About Super Tree Cop 2

Now here's a venerable title that made quite a stir back in the day... 2008, that is. Super Tree Cop 2 was created by myself and a friend. It's my earliest released original title (believe it or not, there was actually a Super Tree Cop 1, but it was lost many hard drives ago). Even then, it's not original at all.

The idea came from a flash video on albinoblacksheep.com called.. Super Tree Cop. Created by user cyber turnip, it was a silly parody of films like Shaft, Beverly Hills Cop etc. Besides the protagonist sharing a name with the titular character, there is no connection plot-wise or theme-wise to the original video. At all. Which makes it all the more bizarre since it's basically just a bad Mario clone.

Made in Game Maker 7 and using a mixture of original sprites and graphics from stock assets and Thexder ('95), 12-year-old me thought it a good idea to share the game on YoYo Games' sandbox website (now defunct, RIP). After several years of sitting in silence, it began to make a splash (to my surprise).

Then the site had to go and get axe'd like half a year later. Nice. Booseye.

Well, without further ado, here it is in all its glory. The game that started it all. It's not been updated and who knows if it will run on modern computers at all..
